Faith McMillin: A Woman of Faith

Written by:

There is one question that no one wants to face in life. Though we all end up facing it eventually. That question is: “What do you do when tragedy strikes?”

Faith McMillin has always been close with her family. Traveling together annually, hanging out together both at home and outside, attending church, and sharing unending support for each other. Unfortunately, in 2019, tragedy struck their family.

In an interview, Faith shared that, “Unfortunately, my mom was diagnosed with cancer back in 2019, which she was then treated for and cured from. However, in the last year or two, the cancer has come back and she is technically a stage 4 patient meaning it spread around the body and is something she will be dealing with for the rest of her life.”

When hit with tragedies such as this, it can be incredibly hard to keep going. Faith mentioned later on in our interview, “My family and I’s faith in Christ has also been the only thing getting us through the entire situation with my mom.” Continuing on to say, “While my family is very close and we all support each other on a daily basis, knowing that even through loss we can have hope that it will get better and a greater life is coming helps get us through the hard times. My faith not only sustains me but it also changes my entire perspective on life in so many ways.”

To put an incredibly complicated situation into simple terms, Faith and her family have navigated through the obstacles life has thrown their way thanks to their faith in God.
